Hi,
Could you please tell me how I can open the ports on a Netgear DG834G Router? I am not sure were I can open the ports.

Go here to Port Forwarding, fimd your router and program and follow the instructions: http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm Setting a static ip isn't necessary unless it changes every time you restart. Here's a link for it if needed: http://portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm

Pay who? Never heard of that or are you speaking of PFConfig; I know of no one who uses that. The site I gave you, Portforward.com, lets you forward manually for free. Find your router; click on it and in the next window, find your program and click on it and follow the instructions.
