i have just built my first pc with various components and when i turn it on all i get is the keyboard lights flashing what is the problem

recheck all cables are in correct orientation. remove all cards & ram except videocard & 1 stick of ram. remove all cables to drives & power up pc.

Your being very vague.

First off all lets start with what are the components of your build? ... It could be a unseen compatability issue.

Secondly when you say tried all that what exactly happened when you tried all that.

Do the fans start spinning? Does the computer make any sound what so ever. Have you tried a different PSU? Are there any risky (Second hand/old) Components your using?

is there anything uncompatible none of the fans spin up no noise whatsoever

ive worked out that the orange light means its in stanby mode how can i get it out of this to start up

Can you get into the BIOS? If so, set the BIOS to the default settings, save, and try to reboot the computer.

If you can't get into the BIOS, try clearing the CMOS by taking out the computer battery and/or using the jumpers to clear the RTC.
