I'm getting an error message when I use Nero 7.

TDK is good, but I wouldn't recommend them. Try to use 1st class media like Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim and Hitachi Maxell (Made In Japan) for your next project.

Meaning your burner doesn't like the media you're using. Try other high quality as mentioned above.

Again, either you need to update the firmware or your burner doesn't read (doesn't like) the media you're using.

You need to completely wipe out Roxio from your system. Roxio and Nero don't get along, therefore you're making coasters. Get Roxio Zapper here http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml

I just updated the firmware a couple of days ago to 2.24

Does

If it does how do I update it? I tried downloading the file but when I run it I get an error message.

I'll get better media the first chance I get.

No it's not for your drive. The 4x means like when you updated from older was likels 2.22 to update to 2.24 that is 2x. It would have been 4.24 or something to update to 4.24 that is 4x. Where the x stands for any # after the original 2 or 4.

Thanks Whompus.

I have to get better media. I tried to uninstall Nero and DVD Shrink after which I reinstalled both and I'm still getting the error messages with emphasis on illegal disc.

I don't know what else to do short of wiping out the hard drive and starting fresh.

I'll try the better media route tomorrow and will post my results.

I zapped Roxio using Roxio Zapper.

I upgraded my media and I'm still getting the illegal disk message.
