Ok make sure you have the newest version of quicktime installed! that is very important
Then click option in TMPGEnc, and click environmental setting, right click on the quicktime reader in the list and raise its priority until it is 2, then click ok and try again!

Praetor....No the file(S) are fine...
Dela...i have a sony clie...the files are never AVI they are originally MOV...i tried MOV2AVI a while ago..1...i gets up to about 55% on all of them then just stops...2....it would take WAY to long anyway because i have 15+ movies anyway...but most of them are under 5 minutes but still...TMPGEnc has batch encode which makes it easy...anybody else have any ideas? I'm....urmm..."getting" QT Pro "from a friend of mine" and we'll see i think that has an encoding tool in it or something...thanks anyway

no...but it plays perfectly so i don't see why the original .MOV's and the converted .MOV's should behave any differently...in other words i think this should work.

Well the qtplugin must only work with MOV files and not MQV files, u can be sure they are in someway different because there wouldnt be 2 extensions for the same file, well expect mpeg and mpg!

Well thats probably it, u said they can be made from MQV files so there must be like a Movie Maker for quicktime that will open it and allow you to save as MOV. I remember having a movie maker for quicktime b4 actually!

Hey!
If you find a fix, please post. I had no problems using TMPGEnc Plus to encode my QT movies to VCD until I upgraded my QT to 6.3. Now, TMPGEnc says "can not open or unsupported" when I select the .mov file to encode. Apparently QT 6.3 is significantly different from previous versions.
Perhaps the TMPGEnc people will update their QT plugin?

You are absolutely right--my bad! The plugin was developed by a programmer unaffiliated with TMPGEnc. Still searching for a solution...
