Play XVID on CD but not on DVD

Hi,

when I burn XviD coded movies on DVDR- and try to watch them on my desktop DVD, it doesn't recognize the video format, and won't play it. However, if I burn the same files on a CD the desktop DVD plays them flawlessly.

My Desktop DVD: Prosound Divx9900USB (not sure what's the chipset).
Burning with Nero 7 (I get no error messages)
As DVD-ROM ("Data DVD")

Any ideas?

When I burn ISOs they do play on my desktop DVD player.

You should burn it as a Video DVD, not a data DVD...

Check your player's instruction manual.

As an example my JVC will play mp3s recorded on CDs but not DVDs. It is specifically mentioned in the manual.
