Failure to burn a DVD + R DL

I have the most recent version of Nero 7 ultra. I purchased Memorex DVD + R DL disks. Nero can identify my DVD burner as DVD + R DL capable. It also sees the DL disks as dual layer. When I choose DVD 9 in the drop down menu as the target DVD to burn to, it gives me a failure to burn error when it tries to initiate the burn. I am burning from a hard drive file created by DVD Decrypter. The file is less than the stated capacity of the blank DVD. I have not had any problem with burning to a standard DVD (with compression) from Decrypter.
Any suggestions what I can change in my Nero program to get it to burn in DL?

Hi jdmonk
You might just need a firmware update on your burner.
For dual layer discs use Verbatim - the best ones.
Post the failed log from Nero and we can take a peek.
Just need the last one and be sure to edit the serial numbers. They usually begin w/ 1A, 1C or 5C.

Here is the Nero error log. It's a little greek to me. See if you can decifer the problem. I'll check and see if I can get a firmware update from NEC.

Ok here's a few suggestions:
Recorder: <_NEC DVD_RW ND-2510A> Version: 2.15
The latest firmware is 2.19. Here's a link.
The media is only listed in the log as Media type: DVD+R9 Double Layer so hopefully the firmware will help the drive recognize these discs better. Usually you'll see a media id too.
Book Type request [NEC]: DVD-ROM, write to RAM
Changing the Book Type was finished with error, return code -1066
Change the booktype to automatic for DVD-Rom.
File 'Drivers\CDRALW2K.SYS
Roxio and Nero don't always play well together. You can uninstall Roxio and run the zap tool to completely remove it.
Give that a go and let us know.

You definitely need a new firmware update. Your drive can't see (recognize) the media you're using.

See above reply. Either your drive doesn't like the media and or it can't read it. 1X is way too slow, try 2X or 4X if your drive is capable of handling DL media.
