can you install ipodlinux on 5g iod with firmware 1.2?

can you install ipodlinux on 5g iod with firmware 1.2? i tried but didn't work. i heard you need to downgrade it since i upgradedd with itunes 7 but i can't get it to downgrade. i found a guide showing me how to do it with ipodwizard and ipod updater 2005-11-17 but whenever i try to uSE the ipod updater a windows error comes up. So if sum 1 could give me a guide to installing ipodlinux and rockbox on a 30gb ipod 5g with firmware 1.2

yo, Same stuff wit me, I use to have a old iPod 30gb and it had my favorite theme on it the tribal red, But I sold it and got a brand new white 30gb iPod video, Since my other one had scratches all over it,anyways ya I wanna know the same thing

Except I am trying to do the Linux and RockBox Plus a new theme. But ya that thing comes up and it says iPods are updated threw itunes 7 and that new 1.2.1 update is crappy, I think they did all this becuase they knew how to counter act it and now we're stuck. I tried restoring my iPod but it has 1.2 already on it. I just can't downgrade because in iPod Wizard it says you have to have the updater your going to downgradr to up and the upgrader has to reconginze your iPod and the ting is,is the updater comes up that error I explained before. Where it updates with iTunes 7 now and now I think we're stuck, I looked at it from every angle and I think we're stuck in the 1.2.,No downgrading ,no themes,no rockbox,no linux. Plus I even tried iHack and it didn't work. w/e HELP US ANYONE!!!!

i think you can do it with the old video (5G) (one with old earphones)... but i know you can't do it withe the new one (5.5G) (one with the new earphones)
