f you should go skating
On the thin ice of modern life
Dragging behind you the silent reproach
Of a million tear-stained eyes
Don't be surprised when a crack in the ice
Appears under your feet.
You slip out of your depth and out of your mind
With your fear flowing out behind you
As you claw the thin ice.

I noticed this in your log..........
Quote: Not enough free discspace.
(Medium in drive: DVD+R. Medium required by compilation: DVD R/RW.)
Sounds like you need to use a DL disc, or software to compress the info, so it fits on a DVD5 (single layer) disc. DVD Shrink works very well for this.
Also, you need to have approx. 10gb of blank space, for backing up a movie. If you don't have that much, you'll need to clear up some space.
Good luck!

You can also use Nero Recode...it is similar to DVD Shrink and is made by the same feller and it's a tad bit faster at compression and the quality may be a hair better.

It really depends on the player you will be viewing your movies in...if it will read either type there is no benefit to one over the other.

Last possible write address on media: 2298495 (510:46.45, 4489MB)
Last address to be written: 2298495 (510:46.45, 4489MB)
burning too close to the edge!! not good... reduce the output to 4400! no more than that...... you're using Taiyo Yuden which is good! but that's wayyyyyyyyyy to close to the outer edge..... leave some room!! that's why it is getting all the errors with the writer..... and now that you have:
Quote: 10:51:40 #126 CDR -1500 File Writer.cpp, Line 311
DMA-driver error, timeout occured
G: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-106D
I would check you DMA on your drive and make sure it's still set to DMA and didn't slip into Pio Mode:

DVD-Copy on the fly
this is not recommended as you get errors it can cause a coaster! and you did get errors cause this tells me you did:
Quote: DMA-driver error, CRC error
the source disk could not be read ..... try cleaning it!
Quote: Existing drivers:
File 'Drivers\CDRALW2K.SYS
and finally.... you have Roxio or Sonic that may be conflicting with Nero! I would uninstall Roxio/Sonic and run the zapper to take out all traces of it:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml
one more thing....... you're Nero version is not the stablest for version 6, use 6.6.0.18..... you are using 6.6.1.4 :
Before udating to 6.6.0.18 I would save the serial #, uninstall Nero, then use the cleaning tools : http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/Clean_Tools.html
then do a registry clean up and defrag...... then reboot!
install package one:
ftp://ftp1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe
then install package two:
http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/Patch_for_NVE3.html
reboot and you're good to go!

it's a setting....... 4489MB is the last possible writing space for video on a DVD5...... your output made it to that very last MB! not good! you can make the whole disk NOT readable if it's that far to the edge..... more chances of corruption... that's why you need to reduce the amount to be written to. Where the setting is usually varies on what program of Nero is being used. You can CUSTOMize it and put in 4400.

Quote: how or were would i reduce the output?
If using DVD Shrink....Edit->Preferences->Preferences tab...in the drop down choose custom and type in 4400.
If using Recode it is in the main screen on the right hand side towards the bottom and it is labelled target output...change to the same value.
