ALright guys I have been following this sight for a while and tried a lot of the suggestions, but still making coasters. I do a lot of VHS to DVD copies using pinacle Studio. i bought a LG light scribe dual layer burner about 3 months about. Burnt 30 dvd;s no problem. Then I started to get problems. I have tried 3 different brands of DVD's none of them have worked. Last night I made 8 DVD+R DL coaster and it hurts. THe burn process always fails right at the end of the burn processes. Just wondering if you guys can shed any light as I do not know how to read the Nero log files. Here is the latest one Please help!!!

Well first off, don't use Nero to burn your DLs. Use a program called IMGBurn to first build and then write an ISO.

Anyway,

Quote:
Physical memory : 766MB (785200kB)
Free physical memory: 57MB (59216kB)
Memory in use : 92
That's very high mem usage. Make sure you don't multitask during your burns.

Too fast burn for a DL. Burn @ 2.4x! :-)

Get back to us.

I will try IMGBurn

as far as multitasking that is wierd that that much memory was being used I clicked burn and went upstairs. (I even shutdown my virus scan but left open my task manager) I looked back and didn't see a spike like that

I will try another speed, for some reason it seemed that Nero had that option grayed out for the set of DVD's I was using. Maybe I just did not let it fully load or something?

I will try right when I get home...

ImgBurn is great. You may want to check for updates to the firmware on your burner as well.

http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_search.php

Nero 6.6.0.18 is the most stable of the 6 series version of Nero. Consider an update to that even if you use ImgBurn for the DLs. Be sure to get the Clean Tool from the Nero site if you change versions.

So I tried the things that were suggested. I use IMGBurn and I made the iso file. I then went to burn it to a DVD and it said that the dvd it was burning to did not have enough space. I tried three different brands all these dvd's are dual layer. The brands are memerox, fugi, and verbatiam. I am wondering if this application does not have support for my burner, which is a LG light scribe. I do not have the model numbers in front of me right now.

I also noticed that the memorex say they can be burnt at 2.4x but all the applications I have tried them in will only allow to select 4x. I thought it was strange that I can pull 6GB of data off a DVD but can not write it back to a DL. Has anyone else seen this before???

I also did a search for my firm ware updates and there were not any new ones.

Do you think that it may be a DVD issue? I assume that this would be hard to prove to a store that it is there problem as this isn't even 3 months old yet. I suppose I could just drop the dough on a new one and find out.

Open to try anything, So please help!
