I'm running version 6.0.9.2 and after working for a couple days after the initial install, it now gives me some bullshit message saying that it's Disabled for all drives. It seemed to happen after starting the the program with a disc in the drive (I hate programs that want to run in the background all the time), but even after numerous reboots w/ the drive empty, I get the message perpetually.
I found this thread, http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=195442 in which a few others were describing the same problem, and all of the suggestions there did not help.
I've tried every combination of reinstalling, removing the discs, manually disabling & re-enabling, and my only recourse (which I've already had to do once) is to run restore to a point before the initial installation.
Please tell me someone here has found a solution to this problem!
The problem does not lie in my hardware, as all programs, including AnyDVD, recognize that they are installed, and I have no problems using DVD Decrypter & DVD Shrink alone.

How about starting the program, then putting the disc in the drive?

The AnyDVD status remains unchanged.
But I'm able to play the disc, rip it w/ DVD Decrypter, play it, etc; all the normal things you'd expect to be able to do when you stick a disc in the drive...except get AnyDVD to recognize it.

Did you reboot after installation? Failure to reboot is , by the way, a common cause for this error....

SEE if this helps ye....
IF HAVING A PROBLEM WITH 6095
People still having the "No DVD Drive Detected" problem can try this beta version:
PER SLYSOFT,AnyDVD 6096
http://sandbox.slysoft.com/SetupAnyDVD6096.exe
this happens if AnyDVD is changed in any way or if using a crack..

I doubt you meant any offense, but I find this question somewhat insulting.

Installed 6.0.9.6 and 6.0.9.7. Even ran registry mechanic, uninstalled folder and rebooted in safe mode and installed from there and still get the same message. I almost resorted to formatting my computer. Now that I know everyone else has this problem, no! Is anybody running anything over 6.0.9.5 and have no problems?

Uninstall the driver for your drive and update driver reboot and see if Any DVD recognizes it then. I'm running 6.0.9.7 and do all the updates letting Any DVD uninstall old and install new with no problems .Also if you have Nero in tools see if it recognizes the drive with all functions and settings. Chris
Are you also waiting for windows to pop up and high light take no action? You may also want to run a HiJac this log if this doesn't work.

After Updating from AnyDVD 6.0.9.2 I had problems galore with AnyDVD not running in the background, AnyDVD disabled. etc
Just for the heck of it I right clicked on AnyDVD desktop icon
Clicked on Properties
Clicked on Compatibility
I noticed the box to run in Compatibility Mode was checked
I unchecked the box
Clicked Apply
Clicked Ok
PROPLEM GONE!!!!!!!!
This is on a system running xp pro

OhSoS, it may seem obvious, but I've had friends call over time, and their problem was that they didn't reboot. No harm meant. Also, I did have a similar problem to yours and tried another DVD drive and that fixed the problem, it turned out my drive was at fault.

Hmm, ive ran all versions of AnyDVD and experienced no problems. The person above could be right, the drive(s) are at fault. My old dvd drive just crapped out on me a few months ago. Three years of burning will do that I suppose (along with no firmware or driver updates, dont be a sloth hahah).
