Nokia's older DCT 4 range of handsets have been easy to unlock using unlock code calculator's.

BUT some of the newer budget Nokia's handsets have caused a little surprise. Although these are still DCT4 handsets they can not be unlocked by code. They use a completely new ASIC type - ASIC 11 (previously there was only ASIC 2,5,6 & 7).

Currently ASIC 11 handset range include the following models:
1110i, 1112, 1600, 2310, 2610

ASIC 11 CANNOT BE UNLOCKED WITH CODES - YET!!
This includes 1110i, 1112, 1600, 2310, 2610. So really don't bother asking as it is a waste of space and time.


If you really need to have it unlocked, either be patient and hold out for JAF support, or take a chance and try the Universal Box.

If anyone has had any positive feedback relating to the Universal Box and BB5 or ASIC 11 model unlocking.. please tell, as i am really interested in finding out the pros/cons of the Uni Box.
