I have 256mb RAM card and i am thinking of buying a 512mb or a 1gb but is ram the memory on your computer with all of your files saved? Because I am wanting to buy world of warcraft for my computer but i need more ram to run it. Does ram making your computer faster or does it add more gigibites for my memory? Thanks

moved to correct forum.
all programs are kept on the hd but is stored temporarily in the ram til pc is turned off. more ram is better as less work used on the hd.
