Hi all! i`m very much a newbie to all of this so i was wondering if anybody could tell me in newbie speak how to Rip dvd`s to an Archos Gmini500, i just want to archive some dvd`s on it! ANY help with this would be greatly appretiated.

does it have a cable to input audio or video? it says that it supports AVI, so i would get some AVI files and just upload the files to the player, i am sure it came with a book of some sort that tells you how to use the unit right? it is probley usb of some sort, hope that helps good luck have a nice day

Thanks rdmercer1! yeah it came with a usb cable for computer connection but all i wanted to do was put a few dvd`s on it after ripping them but i just wondered how other guys ripped their dvd movies onto their Archos? i`ve seen the Ripping guide that Alkohol done but after the process was finished he burned it to disc! so i was wondering if after this process you could put it on your Archos instead of burning it to disc? the manual that came with it tells you next to nothing.
