Can I get some help with my Dimension E310 and graphics card?

So I've come into a predicament. I just bought my Dimension E310 back in July and now I wanted to start playing games like Ever quest 2, Black and White 2, ect. Games that have good graphics. Well my system has a 2.80GHz processor and 2gigs of ram... Apparently I have a extremely bad graphics card that is apparently an "onboard" card. It is a Intel(R)82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family
I looked around and I guess it only has a PCI slot and a x1PCI express slot. It does not have an AGP slot or a PCI x16 slot...
So my question is. Can I buy a PCI card that will be any better than my current card, and will allow me to play new games like EQ2, Oblivion, ect.? Or am I totally screwed over? I'd also like to not have to spend more than $70 but if I had to I'd do it.

sorry dude but your screwed. you can get some older cards on pci but they wont give you playable framerates in games like oblivion.
to my mind to do this you have 2 options, get another dell mobo that has agp or pcie as you can get modern graphics cards on both of these (although the agp ones tend to be more expensive), or get a new mobo and case then use all the other bits from your dell. the first option will be the cheaper option, but getting the mobo might be tricky, the second will cost more but both are parts you can buy allmost anywere.

great... My computer is like brand new, I just got it a couple months ago, I don't want to have to spend more money on it and change stuff around :( I'm not exactly sure how to change motherboards, and how much money would it be? Also, I think I read somewhere that you can't change the motherboard on my pc, is that true?

Um yeah that's my computer. But I don't understand what your trying to say. This is just depressing because I just want to be able to play the game and upgrade with a decent card.

looking at the computer front face with drives looking at you, do you take the left side panel off to see the motherboard & drives(which is normal) or the right side(which is not normal)?

If I have the side facing me, that you plug all the cords into (moniter, speakers, mouse, keyboard, ethernet, ect.)Then to my left is the side that comes off.

than you have a problem as can't use a regular motherboard in that tower. does your computer meet the specs of that card in your last post?
System requirements:
Windows® XP/XP Media Center Edition/2000/Vista
Intel® Pentium® 4, AMD? Athlon? 64
256MB system memory (512MB+ recommended)
CD-ROM drive (for installation)
DVD drive (for DVD playback)
Correct Chipset drivers
300-watt or greater power supply

Yeah I have a 2.80GHz processor, 2gig RAM, xp media center edition, dvdrw drive, and a PCI slot which that card takes. Is it good enough to run games like EQ2 with decent graphics?

Not sure what your trying to figure out, but it only has a PCI slot and a PCIExpress x1 slot. Thats it... :(

I think I read on a site that the E310 only has a 230 watt power supply :(

Yeah open it there is a label on the PSU that says on one section usualy the top max power output;???W or max wattage output ???W
but id say its most likely 230watts dell is always stingy and wants you not to pu t any upgrades in
hey isnt dell the one with the different power supply there own custom ones???

230 Watt Dell psu can be misleading they underestimate there psus imo,my friend has a dell dimension 8200 with 375 Watt psu and he is running a Ati x1900xt with it and he hasnt had any problems and seeing as that card requires minimum 450 watt Id say your 230 Watt psu could handle a 300 watt card try dell community forum here http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/
Personally I would cut my loses and sell your system on ebay or something and build a new system it will work out much better in the long run and it wont cost you much as usually new dell pcs like yours fetch a good price especially if its under warranty
