Is there any way to take my 1.5 gb AVI file of a movie and somehow make it smaller. I know when i have a dual layer dvd i can use DVD Shrink to make it ino a 4 gb dvd. Is there a program out there that does this also but for avi's?

Hi,

You can try using autogk 2.40 or AVI recomp which both can reduce the size of avis. Both are free and can be found in the software section.

to burn or not to burn that is the question

VirtualDub will do it. Open your file in VDub then go to Video>Compression and choose a codec (DivX or XviD are best so make sure you have these codecs installed on your computer), then File>Save as AVI and VDub will output a new file in an hour or so.
