Ok, so I have this .avi file that I exported from adobe premier totally uncompressed (6.9gigs) about a year ago. I had it backed up on another computer. Recently I moved it back to my computer and when I loaded it back into premier all im getting is audio, no video. Now everything says it is a video file, it has no special codecs, and that it should play fine (its just uncompressed straight .avi) GSpot says that theres no codec. So what gives? I'm TOTALLY 100% lost here - any suggestions?
Where did it come from? My guess is you don't have the proper video codec installed anymore, or the right version. You might need to look into getting the Huffyuv, YV12, DV, or Panasonic DV codecs installed.
-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.
Its weird because it says there no codec on it - I exported it from adobe premier in uncompressed format before. So I dont understand whats up. It still says theres 6gigs of video information though!
Ok, I've installed every codec there is. Nothing is working. Could the file somehow be corrupt? It doesnt show video in VLC player either. It plays the audio fine, but no video.
