Nero VCD Freezes

When I try to burn any VCD on nero it freezes anywhere between 3 and 12%. The timer keeps running but the burn (or simulation) stays stuck. I have updated Nero and downloaded firmware for my burner but niether of these has helped. Any Suggestions please it's starting to drive me insane!!

Is Nero doing the encoding or just burning?

Yes I'm encoding using Nero. Should i use something else if so any suggestions

I've now tried that and Nero still won't burn past 3%. I'm gonna try a different burner any recommendations.

hmm nah not really, ive only owned a few, tell me, how often do you defragment and have you run Nero cd speed and Nero drive speed?

I've defraged recently but I have'nt used Nero drive speed, i'll give a go and see what happens.
