I guess this would help, sorry. Here it goes....

0xC00D1199: Cannot play the file
Windows Media Player cannot play the file. You may encounter this error message for one of the following reasons:

The file type is not supported by the Player. The following table lists the file types supported by the Player. If the file type you are trying to play is included in this table, then the file may have been encoded by using a codec that is not supported by Windows Media Player. If this is the case, Windows Media Player cannot play the file.
The file type is supported by the Player, but the file was compressed by using a codec that is not supported by the Player.
The file type is supported, but you are trying to play it in a way that is not supported by the Player. For example, you may have attempted to drag a DVD file with a .vob extension from a DVD to the Windows Media Player icon. Or you may have attempted to open a .vob file by clicking Open on the File menu.
You are trying to play one part of a multipart file. Use a newsreader or other program to combine the files, and then try again.
The following table lists the file types (formats) supported by Windows Media Player.

File type (format) File name extension
Music CD Playback (CD audio) .cda
Audio Interchange File Format (AIFF) .aif, .aifc, and .aiff
Windows Media audio and video files .asf, .asx, .wax, .wm, .wma, .wmd, .wmp, .wmv, .wmx, .wpl, and .wvx
Windows audio and video files .avi and .wav
Windows Media Player skins .wmz
Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) .mpeg, .mpg, .m1v, .mp2, .mpa, .mpe, .mp2v*, and .mpv2
Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) .mid, .midi, and .rmi
AU (UNIX) .au and .snd
MP3 .mp3 and .m3u
DVD video .vob
Macromedia Flash .swf

*To play .mp2v files, you must have a software or hardware DVD decoder installed on your computer.

Notes

To play DVDs, you must have a DVD-ROM drive, and a software or hardware DVD decoder installed on your computer. If you do not have a compatible DVD decoder installed, DVD-related commands, options, and controls do not appear in the Player and you cannot play DVDs. By default, Windows does not include a DVD decoder. For more information about DVD decoders, see Windows Help.
DVD playback is only available on select versions of Windows.

What does that mean, you "stitched" it to AVI? I never heard of that before.

A rar file is an archive which needs unpacking. have you heard of zip files? Well, rar files are like that.

You need an archive unpacker like unrar. Use Google to get it.

You switched it? You didn't explain what that means. Does it mean you just changed the extension, and you think that turns an archive into a playable video????? Like, huh????

Unrar free archive unpacker

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The file is either corrupt or the Player does not support the format you are trying to play.

That's what ikeep getting...

Indochine watch your mouth! there is no need to be calling people names, if you don't have anything usefull to post thain don't, that is the quickest way to get banned, do you want that? if you do just keep it up. whebster if you want to view your file that is in rar format you have to unrar the file, also if you don't have the right codecs instaled on your system you won't be able to view the file , also before you download any file make sure that you read the comments on the file to make sure that if it needs a password to open the file, you might go back to the place where you got the file and see if someone has posted a password, hope this helps have a nice day

rdmercer1, I put a request on the site where i downloaded the file for the password.
As for codecs , i think it's GSpot and it works for all other AVI files i've tried, this is the first time i've tried an rar.Which codec do you suggest other than GSpot.
Also,i downloaded WinRAR, and followed the directions, as far as downloading "bitroll".It says to click help and the password should be there. I tried that and nothing.
Here is my question, how do any of you get your rar files ready to be burned through Nero???
thank you

Whebster, I apologise for calling you a troll. I guess I blew a fuse. I thought you were asking "What kind of movie is a rar file, how can I play it?" and you did not listen to what I said. My bad. I now see you have Bitroll.

You will never get any password because there isn't one! You have been tricked. The rar file is a fake. If you are using Internet Explorer you have likely now got a Trojan on your system.

Bitroll is a fake Torrent program. It installs malware (a virus). There are plenty of warnings out there. Use Google if you want to check.

Most people who have downloaded and installed BitRoll have done so to get a password for a RAR file in a torrent they have downloaded. These torrents are fakes. The text file that these torrents contain instructs users to download and install BitRoll in order to unlock the RARs.
