USB Wifi issues leading to insanity

Okay so I got this wifi USB dongle (Mayflash Wifi Link) that's designed for use with the DS and set up its program and everything so the DS can connect to the AP fine, however the DS complains about either not being able to connect to the game server or being unable to find the IP address (error 52100/52000). Looks like a lot of people have this problem but nothing I've tried (like things in this thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/308564 ) has worked. I need:

IP Address
Subnet Mask
Gateway
Primary DNS
Secondary DNS

But I'm having so much trouble setting this up, been trying different combinations of things for the last two days with no luck. This was my ipconfig/all before I tried manually assigning things:

Exactly which IP/DNS etc should I be using? The PPPoE broadband connection? The LAN? The wireless dongle? And which do I need to enable ICS on?

I've tried assigning like 192.168.0.1 to the LAN, 192.168.1.1 to the AP and giving the DS 192.168.1.11 (10 digits higher like Nintendo suggests), but no luck. Should the AP's gateway be set to the LAN's IP or what?

I just use a regular non router modem and I've tried disabling the firewall and a heap of other seemingly random things. Any help would be great as it's starting to really piss me off.
