is there any way I can filter the video so tis less grainy?

Making avi's is easy but god this thing was ported to DVD badly....

when you import an analog video to DVD it will show up as grainy on large screens. When I converted my VHS tapes to DVDs I ran across the same problem that you have. but AVI files are different. they can be very high quality or you can get crappy AVIs over the internet! It's a crap shoot when you download..... then convert them to DVD compliant files or ISOs. If you find a process that is free and makes better quality out of crappy video... let me know.....I would love to upgrade my old VHS tapes to Digital Quality transfers to DVD!

I am converting from DVD in fact I think I got FFDShow to filter the DVDs enough to where they look at good as on the TV still rather grainy tho anyway I can convert to AVI or recreate the DVDs with a anti grainy filter of some sort,smoothing dosent seem to cut it.

I do know of some VHS grain/static/nose filters but never fooled with them before.

plus the task of makeing them int AVIs is dounting,you now of any VHS/DVD/HD comb drives that let you dump it to the HD for exporting or to DVD?
