Hey i was wondering if any of you can help me out. Im trying to azereus to work on my computer. I can download torrents no problem but they go at like 5 - 10 kb/s. I know it can go faster but the problem is that i cant get my ports to open. I am using dsl modem connected to a wireless linksys router. I have tried everything and no matter what i do i cannot get the ports to open. I have followed the port forwarding instructions, ive tried a bunch of ports, i turned off windows xp firewall and have no other firewalls installed. On my azuereus i get a red circle with a firewalled beside it and the little smiley is always yellow. Please if someone can help me out i would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

Ensure that the ip address you forwarded is correct and the same as the one at ipconfig/all. If it has changed, you'll have to make it static. Azureus prefers ports over 47,000 so select one over 50,000 And, direct connect your router and computer to see if that helps.

The port im using is 65350. I have alreadey set a static ip and still no results. Ilve also tried connecting it directly from the router but it doesnt help, the only way it works is if i connect it from the modem to the computer.

If you are able to surf the web, the router should be ok. Maybe a factory reset will fix things. Locate and press a small button for 10 seconds with a pen (mine is on the back of the router and I use a paper clip). Other than that, you may have to contact the router manufacturer.

If you're getting a NAT error connected directly to the modem, torrents are more than likely throttled. What is your ISP and maybe someone will know or call your ISP and ask them if they block p2p.

Im pretty sure they dont because ive tried hooking my brothers lap top from the modem and it works perfectly fine. The ports are opened and everything but when i hook it up to mine the ports appear to be closed. and when i do a firewall/nat test it gives me a NAT Error

Try these ports: 443, 1720 or 8080, other processes use them and make sure the static address you set is correct in your router forwarding. That's repetitive but no harm in double checking. You could also set your ip address back to dynamic to be sure there are no errors there. Besides, you may not need it static unless your router selects a new one each time you restart. I'm afraid I'm just guessing now and don't have a clue. If your brother's computer works and yours doesn't on the same connection, it has to be some setting in your computer but I don't know what.
