Bit of help with chapters, m2v and VOBs needed

Hi,

Usin the guides i've worked out how to rip and strip out unwanted stuff etc from the vobs etc.

But if i extract the m2v file and redo it with ReMPG2 to reduce the bitrate can I put it back (remux?) into the VOBs replacin the orignal movie usin ifoedit or summat?.

Then what about the chapters? If i do it will the original chapters and everthin else still work like the original?

To remux the m2v file again with the audio, you just have to use ifoedit. In ifoedit, open the existing vts_01_0.ifo and click "vob extras". Now check:
- remux
- correct vobunit(navigation pack) pointers in vob files
- correct ifo tables with the new vob unit information
- create new video_ts.ifo and vts_01_0.ifo

- remove p_uops
- remove macrovision
- adjust vob unit pointers
- adjust audio/subp pointers

Leave all other options unchecked.
Destination directory: choose a directory to put the new files in
m2v file to remux: point to the m2v file you created.

Then hit "create" and it's done.

All chapters will be the same as the original and everything else will work fine.

Thanks for that, i'll give it a go later.

So basically i could rip the full dvd, menus & everythin. Demux the movie from the VOBs, ReMPG it and remux it back. Then once its sorted in Ifoedit fit the whole thing on a DVD and it should work just like the original?
