Zebadee, Yes indeed they're at it again. Prolific updaters to say the very least. I take it we are both fans of AnyDVD? I've used it for some time and never encountered a problem, but just reading some posts makes me thankfull mine works fine. I do however believe that there are those that use prog's with cracks and that this can and often does create probs. Personally speaking, I think it's worth shelling out the bucks for this one.
Yeah, there are many people who have and use patches that quickly expire and are relatively easy to aquire online, but later scramble to purchase the actual software once options and know how runs thin. I purchased both CloneDVD2 & AnyDVD a while ago and keep all of my updates saved. Recently Slysoft has had some trouble's which I could not really understand when older versions of AnyDVD would had no trouble with same new movie..hmmm. Arccos has recently been found on many of LIONSGATE films as well as SONY distributed films and they are on their job. I think it comes down to know how, resources and how much one spends understanding decrypting and encoding programs. I still say that if anyone is backing up there films then go retail and purchase both CloneDVD2 & AnyDVD. Freeware works and is always useful as an alternate and even in combination with AnyDVD or CloneDVD2. I purchase these programs because I support the notion that one day copyright laws will change to support the consumer and all we be able to back-up their personal collection without the legal restrictions set in place.
AnyDVD just went up in cost to $49.00 which I again support, any measure that would keep SlySoft from just folding and selling off the software. The software is really worth more than that given what these two software's allow you to do in comparison to what one pays for DVD's. Hey it looks like they've (SlySoft) worked out the last few AnyDVD update kinks and I've chosen to go back to using the current version 6.1.0.2 which worked well with my mid January DVD releases. I can't honestly believe that the movie companies think that people who choose to make back-up copies are really doing anything wrong when not one piracy ad or trailer references the sale on blank DVD's as the most significant catalyst to any DVD being reproduced, be it mass produced or simply backed up to preserved a private owners original copy.
As I've said before there is more money I feel being made from the blank DVD media than from the actual original movies being sold at retailers. Retailers all over America and abroad are making a killing selling blank DVD media and not a word is said about it. But the person who purchases the DVD and creates a back up is stealing? Someday this will all change for the better.:P
