just to tell you, the recent HP dvd are pretty bad. My 4 years old HP 8x DVD+R near perfect (slightly longer load times), while my 3 month old HP 16x DVD+R just fails fails fails. Theres already like 80 threads on the type of media you should use and try and get DVD-R since their compatibility is much higher than DVD+R from experience.
If they are 16x brun them at 8x and iof tehy are +R booktype them to -Rom and you might get them to work Hp arent that bad overall and should work jsut do those things first and How old is your ps2 by the way the laser might be dying.
