Hello.

That firmware seems odd numbered to me. It's either very very old, the wrong firmware, the wrong model burner, or a burner Liteon manufactured for another company. See if your burner will flash this version:

http://codeguys.rpc1.org/firmwares/dvdrw/832S.CG5M.patched-cf.rar

You're using media manufactured by Prodisc which isn't known as a high quality manufacturer. Try some Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, or anything labeled as made in Japan, especially Sony and Fuji. You should try to find some 8X media. Your burner is old and probably won't burn any 16X media well, if at all. It all depends on whether the firmware has been updated to recognize and burn that speed media.

It might not hurt to start looking for a new burner. They are really cheap these days, depending on where you live of course.

If changing the firmware and media doesn't help, you might try installing the burner in another system (if one is available) to you to see if the burner works correctly there.

Dude you already had a thread closed due to multi-posting you do it again in a different section.

This question was posted here...

It is an OEM version firmware for HP DVD drive. You will need to use a patched firmware to update it to the newer firmware version. Read the other thread you started to get more information.
