Hi,
Well, this has happened before and I scrapped the encoding on that particular file as the TMPGE keep shutting down as soon as I went to click the button to encode the avi file to MGEG format. Okay, it's happening again...and I dont' want to get rid of this file..I want it. So, now I have to deal with why it's doing this.
The file when viewed on computer is fine. I can't see what or if there are any problems. I put the avi file thru divfix and it's saying no errors.
I tried opening it in GS spot to see if I had the codecs which I know I should as I have no problem viewing other avi files or encoding them. Hmph...funny thing is...GS spot won't open it ...keeps saying file is in use. Use? Where?
So, what do I do know to get TMPGE working to encode this file??
MMM...I don't know...the only different thing is that I took away Nimo pack...but it shut down on my before with another AVI file and I had the nimo pack.
If TMPGE isn't going to work with this file..think I should try another encoder? Can I still leave my TMPGE On my computer as I do like it...easy to use.
Just used GS spot and I was able to open all those AVI files that TMPGE Encoder wouldn't encode and it seems i"m missing a codec MPEG-4
IN the codec section it says MPEG-4 and then this codec is NOT installed.
Now I had already gotten rid of nimo codec pack...maybe I shouldn't have. I tried to redownload nimo but the server isn't allowing me to. It's saying there is an internal server error. Now what am I gonna do??
Okay..have done some browsing and installed the necessary codec from this site.
www.digitalminds2.com/DivX/DivX.htm
Now when I open GS Spot and load these two particular AVI files that are giving me problems..it's showing I have the codec installed. Why then is the TMPGE Encoder still shutting down on me?
I started another thread......I just wanted to say that I ended up re installing nimo and the TMPGE encoder worked just fine...encoding anything and everthing. Of course now it poses a problem with xivd files....but I'll just remove nimo when I encode them and then reinstall it again. It's the only simplest solution I can think of.
