I have a Toshiba SD-350E DVD player & just bought a Samsung HD ready LCD & IXOS Component leads but no change via prog scan mode. When I press Prog Scan button in stop mode as instructed, the picture goes dark & flickers for a few seconds & can just make out Toshiba & DVD logos, before returning to normal stop mode. Pressing play again makes no difference to picture. Ive also tried with QED scart & HDMI cables. Ive spoken to both Toshiba & Samsung who cannot help apart from reiterating that i should see a big difference in prog scan mode & although picture is good, I was expecting to be HD like. A friend has a Philips CRT pixel plus2 which is 3 years old & the depth/detail/sharpness of picture is stunning. Am i naive to think i could get the same or similar with my combination?

Any help as I'm now stuck with this tv as cannot return & now just trying to make the best from a dissapointing situation.
