I searched guides with no luck but here's my situation.

I have a DVD.
I want it on my computer for my own personal viewing.

I need a program that will rip the DVD (and break protection/encryption or whatever) preferably under 3 GB.

I'm not limited to free programs or trial programs, I'm looking for a well-known/popular program. Cost isn't an issue.

i think you'll find the latest slysoft AnyDVD is able to rip your dvd to VOB files on your pc

If your purpose is only for playing back on your computer, you don't need to rip it to VOB files, which is too big. AVI/DivX is recommended. Try AoA DVD Ripper and see this guide DivX.htm" target="_blank">http://www.aoamedia.com/dvd-to-DivX.htm
