ok..i was using Nero 7 to burn a AVI file with a menu but then after bout 2 mins in the movie i was gettin' playback problems. the movie would skip farward bout 1 to 2 mins. I was using memorex DVD-R disc so i started to use winavi to convert my AVI files to dvd files and use Nero to burn.. now i started using dynex DVD-R from best buy (5 bucks for 100 disc day after thanksgiving) some playback just fine some might have a small freeze in it but nothing major. but today i actually had 3 burns fail and the 2 that didn't fail did mess up on playback about 15 mins into the movie so bad that i couldn't finish the movie unless i wanted to miss bout 10-15mins of the movie..

my first ? is i'm pretty sure i need to update my firmware according to what i've learn here on this site.. where can i get a update

2nd ? how do i change the setting in Nero to make them all burn at 4x.. some burn at 8 and 16 also learning from this site the slower the beter.

3rd ? should i use a different method of converting and burning

any comments welcomed...

here's my log file THANKS IN ADVANCE

You are using a lot of memory, dont multitask while burning

Burn process started at 8x (11,080 KB/s)
You are using good quality discs, however try slowing burn to 4X
