I have made a few backup DivX's using DrDivX 1.02 from vob files ripped from various DVDs. Operation was trouble free.

The problem is that in each of the resultant .avi files there is a glitch at the beginning of the avi in that the opening logo credit, ie. the lion, horse etc plays repeatedly 3 times and then the movie plays as normal.

Has anyone else experienced this? I haven't had this problem when ripping to DivX using other programs.

Has anyone else experienced this problem or can anyone help?

Thanks

Well, Ive never used Dr. Divx for my divx encodes but you should adress your problem at the divx forums.

Dr. DivX Forum:
http://forums.divx.com/viewforum.php?forum=24

Or you could just cut out the glitched parts with virtualdub or virtualdubmod.

1. I already have ... but why not ask the question on both Forums & use the valuable brain resource of those who frequent Afterdawn?

2. I wouldn't be posting if the glitched parts could be cut. The files show errors (& can't be cut) when opened in any version of VDub ... but they play fine after the opening logo.

Well I suggested the divx forums because that's where i think youd get the most help(the creator of the program frequents there plus theyve got their own board dedicated to everything related to dr divx while afterdawn doesnt).

BTW did you find a solution from the dr. divx forums yet?

Also maybe you might be able to get rid of those bad frames by running the AVI through divfix. Im pretty sure it has an option of deleting bad frames.

Good Luck.

No. I don't think that Forum has a high response rate.

Every time I've used DivFix, it removes the bad frames but ruins the picture quality of the rest of the movie ... and ... it did the same this time.

Have you tried scanning the video for errors with vdubmod and then deleting them?

I appreciate your trying to help but as I said, "The files show errors (& can't be cut - [or edited]) when opened in any version of VDub".

I believe this is a Dr DivX problem in the way it rips or converts the beginning of VOB files.

All I'm looking for are people who have experienced this problem and/or have a solution. There's no point in "fixing" the end product of a conversion program. If the program has a problem, the program needs a fix, not the end product.

Hence why I'm asking around.

Thanks
