Hello All,
I'm having a problem with Nero. Going through my first spindle of DVD+R's (TDK) and getting about a 50% coaster rate. The problem from the log file seems to relate to a "KEY_ILLEGAL_REQUEST"
Burner is PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-111D
Here is the logfile paste:

Hi Team2K
Here's a few suggestions:
WinAspi: File 'Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=?.?.?.?, si
Check Nero's aspi. In SmartStart go to ToolKit>Info Tab.
Click on the aspi tab. Check and see if Nero's shows as corrupted.
If it does download a new one from Nero - link.
You would copy and paste it to the Core folder in Nero under program files.
If it shows no system aspi installed - you're okay there.
Recorder: <PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-111D>Version: 1.23
Burner can use a firmware update - the latest is 1.29.
Physical memory : 639MB
Free physical memory: 60MB
Memory in use : 90 %
Too much memory in use. Free some up - no multitasking and close any unneeded programs.
Might want to do a disc cleanup and disc too along w/ a virus & spyware scan if you haven't very recently.
Disc Manufacturer ID: CMC MAG
Not the greatest manufacturer for media here at all.
Better to use would be Verbatim or made in Japan Sony, Fuji or Maxell.
Burn process failed at 12x
For these discs try burning at 6x or lower.
File 'Drivers\CDRALW2K.SYS'
Roxio and Nero don't always play well so if all fails uninstall Roxio and run the zap tool
Give that a go and let us know.

binkie:
Thank you for your helpful analysis. winaspi was indeed corrupt, and i have updated firmware to 1.29. One burn was successful using same TDK media at 6x . Hopefully the problem has been fixed! Will post again if the coasters come back :)
Thanks again!
