Is there any way to put multiple episodes that are in video format (like you would put onto a VCD)and are fairly small in size onto a DVD? The only way I know so far is to convert them, but that just makes them huge in size and only lets you put 3 or 4 onto a disk-like a VCD

That still doesn't really help me out considering that I have to convert the videos to tmpeg2, which would make them very big. I'm not really conscerned with menus and chapters, I really just want to fit an enire season on a DVD. Is there any way where I don't need to convert them?

If the files are in VCD format (MPEG1, 352 x 240, 1150Kbps), they do not have to be re-encoded. The DVD standard is compatible with VCD files -> DVD authoring programs like TMPGEnc DVD Author will accept VCD compliant files just like MPEG2 files.

However, if the files are in AVI format or a non-standard MPEG format, there is no way to avoid re-encoding (in this case, however, you can adjust the bitrate to produce a custom-sized file).

I tried to download the trial version but an error came up when opening the program

C:\download\tmpgenc\TDA-1.5.11.37-install-EN.exe is not a valid Win32 application.

They said that I had to agree to an end user licensce agreegment before I download but I read through it and there wasn't any way to agree or disagree-does anyone know how I open the program?

Go to the website in my signature >> Go to Downloads >> Chose 3rd option down and download it from there. It works for me that way!

Well for some reason it just doesn't work on my computer-is there any other dvd author program that you recommend?

I have pinnacle studio 8 but when I try to burn a mpeg-1 to a dvd it says that the output size will be 1654.9 mb even though the file itself is only 241 mb. Do you know what's going on?

Yeah, its the conversion to a different format. You will need to use an mpeg splitter to split the file to 2 seperate discs.

Well the thing is that I'm trying to put a season of episodes onto one disk, if I have to use more than one disk I might as well use cd's instead of dvd's, if that makes sense

That doesn't really make sense to me either. So in other words, if you have to use 2 4.7 GB discs, it would make more sense to use 14 CD's?

Well it's definetly not practical, but I don't want to pay like $20 for two dvd's either. I think all I need is a dvd authoring program that won't automatically convert the files when it burns

$20 for 2 DVD's? Where you going to. Rip-off-Shop in Rif-off-Ville, down town Rip-Off??

I can get 25 high quality Ritek G04 4x DVD's for £25 in UK. USA is cheaper i think.

Jings man, even up here in scotland you can go into Dixons and get 4 -R for £20 ( not something that i would ever consider doing), but 20 for 2, that is just the most rediculous.

Guys, its so simple what JAKE2003 wants:

To put for example 5 VCD episodes on 1 DVD+r/-r
(Instead of 5 VCD on 5 CD-r)

Don't know the answer but I know the question..... haha
