Splitting AVI/MPEG ... and loosing quality

I am trying to split an AVI file into 2 pieces so that it will fit onto 2 cdr's. when i split the file it losing a fair bit of its resolution. is there any program or way that i can split the file without losing the quality? also when i convert from AVI to MPEG using TMPGEnc it wont convert to MPEG 2 so i can burn it as a SVCD and help gratefull.

i have tried using ... AVI MPEG ASF WMV Splitter and Easy Video Splitter . they are the only ones i know of .... i also use TMPGEnc

u say loosing resolution, what exactly do u mean, is there something being chopped off?

no m8, its losing quality... going a little blurry and colored blocks appearing in certain scenes.

Well in VirtualDub did you said processing thread priority to highest in the options?

Hi!
well, programs like Easy Video Splitter are crap, use VirtualDub. Visit my site at the link REMOVED! and take the AVI Chop with VirtualDub guide.

Actually that wasnt the best decision by me cause this guy is a good guy, just caught this on a bad day!. He is back now as afonic2 and has permission to advertise on the forum, lol, as long as he doesnt overdo it and say, aD suck or something ;-)

Thats cool.
Saying 'aD sucks' does warrant a banning or maybe some sort of torture. Or maybe im being a little too harsh...
