I accidentally posted this in the Newbie folder before, i meant to post this here. If this is the wrong forum, what forum do i need to post this in?

I'm running into a backing up error.

I am trying to back-up my office's networked server. And when I include a directory that has more than 8 nested folders within, the entire disc becomes Bunk. Basically, all the files beyond the first two sub levels read as 0 KB in size, furthermore they are unopenable.

I have tried copying the folders to my desktop, and have checked the folders view properties.

Is there anyway around this without having to create a new filling system to suit the DVD+rw's needs?

I believe this is an ISO 9660 limitation. If you are using Nero one of the tabs (don't remember exactly since I don't use it anymore) has the details of the format you're using and what restrictions are being enforced. You can change these settings to fix the problem.

Actually, using a variant of Roxio ...

Roxio has a tab setting on the format, but there is only one choice for DVD burning, otherwise the disc size is limited to i think a gig.

If you can I would recommend switching to different software. Nero would be a good choice. If that's not an option you could use Winzip or WinRAR to make an archive with no compression and then burn that to the disc.

Damn, i replied to your other one lol. It was in the right forum as well. ;-)

Roxio isnt very good at all when it cmes to....well...anything at all. I've always hated it, but thats just my personal opinion. Try using Record Now Deluxe and see how you get on. I gave you a link to download a trial in your other post.
