Hello, I currently have a router firewall plus my computer's firewall and I am also running Peer Guardian 2 (latest updates). Is this good protection or what else can I do to keep protected? I am not downloading anything illegal, but I hate it when Paramount Pictures Corp keeps HTTP attacking me when I am trying to surf online. SO annoying...

What does everyone do to stay protected? Thanks in advance!

If you are getting popups, look into Adblock.

Thanks for the reply, but I already found that one. Sorry. I was asking for ways to be protected from hack attacks online and ways to proxy/encrypt data that is free (gnu stuff). Thanks!

Well, if you want to proxy everything you do, then look into this...
http://www.torrify.com/

Or, you can just use onlines proxies like proxylord.com

TO be protected form hackers, all you need is a firewall. :-)

Interesting... I just got I2P, but I am still trying to figure out how to get everything to work. I am mainly concerned with keeping myself safe online and annoymous. That is my majoy concern.

Torpark would do the job great then - if that's what you need. :-)

Great. Does it work for all internet applications (eg. p2p, browser, games)?

No, what it is, is an adaptation of Mozilla Firefox that routes your internet browing through another server. It's like Fireox with a built in proxy server lol.

Read about it at the site I linked to up a few posts ^^

This program is really cool! I am using it right now. The only problem that I see with it is that it is not a FF mod/addon so I would have to open up the file each time to be secure. I mainly use IE7 as my browser so if FF is only for "secure" connections, then I really don't mind. Thanks again for the info! I just like being safe online and not getting hacked and stuff.
