Post your problematic DVD titles with a 'brief' description of the error you get. That way people can tell you if they have been successful or not. Keep it brief and dont turn it into an off topic thread!

;-)

I aint had any problems with DVD's :-)

Four weddings and a funeral (R2)
- won't let itself get ripped. have tried with latest versions of both smartripper and dvd decrypter.
- actually, dvd decrypter will rip the dvd but only until 8% after which the app jams.
- Dvd decrypter prompts: "Media region code is mismatched to logical unit region! The slower brute force cracking method will be used instead."

This is Spinal Tap (R1)
- Unable to rip whatsoever.
- Neither of my pc dvd drives won't recognise, only my standalone playbacks.
- Has no physical scratches etc.

American Werewolf In London (R2) PAL

The Long Good Friday (R2) PAL

I've since done 'Long Good Friday' , the first time I tried it was an ex-rental but my mate lent me his copy to try a few months later & I had no problems at all (plus there was a full screen option on his DVD too).
I haven't tried American Werewolf In London yet , but it was also an ex-rental so just took it that it was a worn out disc.
The problems I'd encounter would be that SmartRipper wouldnt rip at first so I'd stick it thru DVD Decrypter (w/ 'ignore read errors' ticked) and it would rip to 100%. Then when DVD2One went to work it'd get to 99% and give me error. This was before DVD Shrink days btw...

Why would I chose this program over 321Studio? Does it do something special. I am interested in a comparison against DVDCopyExpress. I'm so far happy with the results.

Thanks

Do you see the name OMAR in the post above yours ??
You wasn't being spoken to samintx...

DVDxCopy is a waste of money so good luck with that!!
If you want to discuss DVDXCopy of any version then go to right Forum http://dvdxcopy.afterdawn.com

Well, pardon me for living. I was also speaking of Copy DVD EXpress not the DVDcopy to replied about.

You do not have to be rude.

I try to answer to many ppl on this forum & if you ask me specifically why you should ...this , that & the other - I am going to answer truthfully !

Not that anyone suggested that use anything other than 321 Studio shite - but if your happy with that...what was the point in posting such a comment
Because as stated I was answering Omar's post - the name Omar at the top meaning it was only really meant for him !!!! (if anyone else was to get a hint or clue to better software , then all the better)

DVD Shrink being a lot better than 321 Studio's DVDxCopy , because it doesnt give warning screens of it being a back up & also DVD Shrink back ups are copyable straight off without having to delete restrictions that DVDxCopy puts in place.

I could carry on for hours but if you feel you've been spoken to so rudely then I suggest you go seek a Moderators opinion.

Regarding Dvd xcopy xpress, it's easy to remove the warning screen at the beginning of the movie using ifoedit95. It takes about 30 seconds. If you do a search you'll find that this method has already been posted somewhere
under "ripping with dvd xcopy xpress vs nero".
As for copying Xpress backups, just copy and paste the files to your hard drive and then burn dvd-video with your favorite burning
program.

I have tried (with DVD Xpress upgrade) twice to make a copy of WILDE (the biography movie of author) 321 would only copy the previews. The movie was never copied.

So..................can't travel with it.

I only has 321 so had no way of trying anyother way of duplication.

Both times 321 said "successful copy". The DVDs came from two difference sources, also. Not the same DVD.

Really no particulars. 321 said it made a copy both times at different times, different disks.

It sounds Like most of the Problem with Copying certain Movies has absolutely nothing to do with the Movies them selves or there copy protection but with the Software you are useing or the Disk it self is Probably damaged to some degree..That is why it is good to Know as many different methods for Backing up Movies as Possible so if one thing doesn"t work then you can try another thing or Program instead of Sitting a Screwing with the same program for a week to finally find out that you can"t do it with the Present software or backup method.....Cheers

Well, before and after I have had no problems with copies of other DVDs. It was confined to Wilde alone.

Hope I didn't screwup! Accidently, while watching TV click the "unsubscribe" URL! Ugg. They don't give you a choice. You click on it and it "unsubscribes" no second chance to cancel!!!

HopScotch
DVDShrink reduced it to 4.1 gigs or so it said but Nero 6 said it was still over 6gigs
Shrunk it again to 3.5 Nero reported it as over 5 still
Shrunk it the third time to 3.1 and Nero Burt it.
Very odd the only one I ever seen do that.
I kept compressing the compressed versions by 20%
One other person here where I work reported a similer situation, anyone else ?????
Oh just switched from Nero 5 to Nero 6 hope that was not a mistake?

Evolution with CloneDVD - Crashed my computer!

Used DVD Decrypter next and it ripped first time perfectly.
