My new laptop came formatted in two partitions in FAT32 totaling 100gigs. Should I reformat to NTFS? My OS is XP Pro. Thanks!

Can someone tell me if the NTFS file system is better and if I should reformat?

fat32 can read a file 4gigs in size whereas ntfs can read a single file bigger than 4gig. a file that size is usually a movie. a win9x boot cannot read a ntfs formated drive except as a non-dos drive. what are you using the laptop for?

I say, go with the NTFS. That is what almost all current systems are running, and people who want to back up their games and movies run into problems due to the FAT32 file size limit.
