hello everyone hi..i just downloaded the Nero 7 essential.and i was wondering which one should i use to burn movies?do i go to Nero express or Nero vision?and how can i work this with DVD Shrink?is there anyway?

If you're just backing up your DVDs, you don't need Nero at all. Just use Ripit4me (free) which combines several other free programs for backing up and burning.

Nero Express is a front-end wizard for the program suite.

Nero Recode has two purposes: converting video to mpeg4 and backing up DVDs (compression), the latter is similar to the function provided by DVD Shrink.

Nerovision Express is useful for authoring your own DVDs, for doing AVI to DVD conversions, and making menus.

hey ummm i really dont understand this whole thing?my friend let me used his Nero b4 n he showd me how to copy a movie using dvdshrink and adding the file 2 Nero xpress n i was able to back it up.but now i cant.i tried that new Nero 7 i have and i click on data dvd or someting so it was burning after that i cant view the movie iono whats wrong wid it?i saved the files to my hard drive but how can i burn this so i could watch on my dvd player

Maybe if you explain exactly what you are trying to do, if you are trying to back up an existing movie (from an original DVD) then you use Nero Recode, with a program such as AnyDVD running to break any copy protection. AnyDVD is available from the slysoft site.

Use the 2nd option of Nero Recode and not the Digital (Remake DVD) if you are attempting something other than this then be more specific.

mah fault if i wasnt being specific to my question.heres whats going on...i copy original dvd using DVD Shrink after it save on my hard drive i used Nero and burn it to DVDR.but now i cant do that anymore when i tried opening Nero error comes out.and i tried using my Nero 7 essential it burn but it wont play on my pc or my dvd

You can autoburn from DVD Shrink with Nero, DVD Decrypter (free) or ImgBurn (free). When you click the Backup! button in Shrink these options should appear.

If you don't autoburn from Shrink use Nero Express.

If you outputted a folder of video files in Shrink, in Nero Express select DVD-Video Files as the item to be burned and add the files in the VIDEO_TS folder you saved from Shrink.

If you outputted an ISO image file from Shrink, select Disk Image as the item to be burned with Nero and then select that ISO image file when prompted.

You can't burn a DVD with Nero 7 Essentials. It does not have the required DVD-Video plug-in. It does not have Burning ROM. Use the free programs mentioned or get the plug-in.

the error you are probably getting is the movie you are trying to backup DVD Shrink can't handle by its self being its not updated anymore. so you have several options like "RitIt4Me" you can get that here

or you can use CloneDVD 2 + AnyDVD which does all the newer movies being the program updates for life plus it easy to use
