I am thinking of buying a hard drive size 1TB so i can store a large amount of movies on it when i go away, i wont have to take my original discs, 1st is this possible, 2ndwhen i store the movie in a folder how do i play it from the hard drive??? and how many can i fit on a 1TB HD? is it possible to reduce their size to get more on the HD??

1tb is enough space for about 1000+ movies

it will come up as a removable device, so you can just click the files and they will play in your default player

Hi thanks for the reply, how would i get 1000 movies on a HD, i thought dvd's are 4.7gb each, is there a way i can reduce their size without losing too much quality?? and do i just copy the dvd movie to a folder on the HD?? thanks

Hi once I have backed up my dvd to a folder on my pc i open the folder and it contains VTS files etc, how do i then compact the movie into 1 file and watch it on my pc, because at the moment it has about 7 files these files are -
Video_TS backup file of IFO?? 8kb
VTS 01 backup file of IFO?? 78kb
Video TS mpeg file
VTS_01_1 to VTS_01_6 mpeg file
there is nothing in udio TS folder these files are all in Video ts folder. very confused thanks for any help

you need to use dvddecrypter to get the copyright off,

to form one file you can choose no split in the options menu, this will give you one 4.xgb file.

and then if you want you can convert it to .avi to around 700mb

all of the files should be in the video folder. when you watch with your player, just open the video folder and it should play fine. i have never had anything in the audio folder.
