i have a
mercury kob c884
sound card can anyone help me i went to there website and looked for updates only updates for xp which i tried and nothing

i dont haave cash to fork out for a new card can anyone help me please

also when i play video files in my media player it says
COM surrogate
not working what the hell is that
one of the many other problems wrong with my god damm windows vista

vista is still put together half-assed. go back to xp for about anohter year or two, if you absolutely *have* to upgrade.

VISTA ROCKS PEOPLE ! im tired of u peeps with cheap pc's saying vista sucks and stuff go out and try the FINAL one ureself i had tried the betas b4 and they crashed alot and stuff but now the final version rocks now if u have a cheap pc dnt go whining saying vista is a resource hog dnt b cheap peeps BUY RAM jesus!

now... back to the topic which is helping the dude get his soundcard to work, NOT telling him to go back to xp!

ok i took the sound card out i have the bulit in one in use now

still nothing

when i go to device manager>
it has a problem sign beside
crystal sound fusion(tm) WDM interface
when i update it says its up to date
what can i do is there anything i can do

and on my taskbar at the bottom it has an audio sign
which says
NO AUDIO OUTPUT DEVICE INSTALLED

There are not to many drivers being made as of yet for Vista...such as sound drivers. It might be awhile before they are even made. If you must keep Vista then try a dual boot to keep the best of both worlds.

I personally will stick with XP until I have no other choice.

because i am loving vista
and everything else was going ok i fixed every thing else just not this one major problem
after having paying for it an all
looks like ill have to wait a while ta use it

God Vista sucks i have ultimate and want to get a refund it's so good looking but so crappy on the otherhand support goes above visuals you can get Widgets etc for xp you know?,
Office 07 is gay too its much mor espace on your hdd ive got about 420gb alltoghter but it takes 6-8gb and is the same as 03 ive already put 03 back
Onecar is good until you see your svchost.exe start taking 99% of a 3.4ghz cpu and thne i said bye,bye to that 2!

Hehehehe.. There we have another great example of the M$ philosophy.. stuff the end user... 200$$ for a pile of c*** that isn't even as complete as 98.

I have one thought. Have you attempted to find the driver for the card on your xp install, pinching it onto a floppy or something and then putting it somewhere in your vista install and pointing the OS at it?

install the xp sound driver in compatibility mode under vista

Well spoken screw Vista! I do not plan on upgrading until I am forced to and by then I should have all I need on Linux!
