I have had experience with other audio dvd software and have been disappointed. I decided to give Nero a try for other reasons but would like to convert my wave files to play on my home dvd player. My Nero version is the newest, 7.7.51 I believe. My home player is a top line Sony ES. I used to use Audio DVD creator. It was ok.
But, when I record an audio dvd using Nero, It says cannot read disc.
So lets start this off, what information can I give you so that we can start trouble shooting?
What do you need to know?

I had a quick look at the Nero website for a tutorial about making a DVD Audio, but came up empty. You can certainly make a MP3 DVD (just MP3 files copied to a DVD, which may not play on every DVD player), a Nero Audio+ DVD (not many machines would play that) or a WMA DVD (think this is WMA files copied to a DVD disk).
If you copied your .wav files to a DVD all you have done is made a backup of your files. It is unlikely to play in your DVD player.
The media you use can also affect readability. What type of DVD discs did you use?
Can you post your log of the Audio DVD burn? Make sure you edit out your Nero serial number before posting
Nero 7 history log location:
Program Files>Nero>Nero 7>Core>NeroHistory
I know it's different media, but have you tried to burn an Audio CD in Nero and try that in the DVD player.- just to check your basic system is going.
Edit: Nero history location and SN warning

Good suggestions. My Sony dvd player would play audio dvd's made by audio-dvd creator which essentially created audio/video files and tricked the player into thinking it was a real dvd but only had audio files burned to it.
I created a juke box cd using mp3 and disabled the mp3pro option which may have initially been the problem. That jukebox cd played just fine, though I really dont know the difference between making a std mp3 cd and a jukebox cd as Nero calls it using mp3 files?
I am now going to attempt to burn a jukebox dvd using mp3 files since Nero only gives me 3 choices of extensions in which to burn a audio dvd disc: mp3, wma, or Nero digital files.
I will get back to everyone on the results.
Expanding on the other note: I looked for my Nero history folder under my c drive. Once I got into the core folder there were only individual files in it. None of the files were labled history and there was no history folder.
Can you suggest somewhere else it could be located or perhaps there is a setting I need to check to keep history? I would really like to be able to post that too
Thanks

Yes, as we thought, the mp3 audio files burned onto the dvd using the jukebox dvd option would not play.
My sony indicated cannot play disc
But, I have looked through all my c drive folders and there isnt one labled history for Nero either.
Im gonna try searching my options/preferences to make sure I somehow didnt turn off history logging.

So it appears you need to Author a DVD to make it play on the Sony.
On the MP3 vs Jukebox CD - don't think there is any difference. Your Sony obviously supports MP3 from CD-R (maybe CD-RW).
The problem is that it doesn't support MP3 from DVD. It's not alone!MP3 playing from DVD is only recently (from looking at feature lists of players) becoming more commonly supported by DVD players.

So, it lay terms, what you are saying is that for what I want to do given my equipment, Nero will not be able to meet my needs?
If that is the case, without posting the question to the general forums, is there a recommended program that can create my audio-dvd disc besides audio-dvd creator and ulead burn?

Not saying Nero won't do it, because it can certainly can, but not what you want at the touch of a button.
The December issue of Australian PC User has a front cover CD that includes free "Audio-DVD Jukebox" program. This takes a .wav, creates a background and title image, encodes the audio and muxes it all into MPEG-2 files. Makes an image on your hard drive and waits for you to pop a DVD in. Not that I'm suggesting you get Oz PC User, but I would expect something similar would be available freeware in your locale.
Perhaps a question in the appropriate forum is a good idea.
