On my new laptop, there seems to be a problem playing many WMV videos. The colors are inverted - red becomes blue and so on. Audio is fine. This happens with most WMV files, but not all - I suppose the really old ones are fine.

This problem occurs with all video players - Windows Media Player, BSPlayer, Core, Zoom, etc. Only VLC is able to play the files correctly due to its internal codecs. I thought this might have been a codec problem, but installing the latest Windows Media codecs didn't help.

The video card is an ATI X1600. I've tried both the latest ATI drivers and Omega drivers, and I've also tried turning off WMV acceleration in the ATI control panel, but none of these have any effect.

Any ideas?
