I just authored a DVD and want to burn it to 4 identical recorders simultaneously but always get a "end of track" error which happens at 100% of recording phase. The DVD is readable on the PC but not on the DVD player. I'm using Windows Vista, Taiyou Yuden 8x DVD-R, LITE-ON DVDRW SHW-160P6SPS0A, Nero Version: 7.7.5.1. The same error happens when I burn to 2 or 3 recorders simultaneously. Burning is only successful when burning to 1 recorder. Below is the log.

your Nero logs seem to be short..... where is the beginning showing all your drives and Nero version and whether you have your DMA on in each drive..... and also the end not showing your drivers and such. this is missing in your log.

so far I see the drive doesn't like your disk. and stopped your drives from burning? do you have ALL 4 burners the Lite-On? see if you can post the full log, please. remember to edit out your serial # usually starting with 1A**-****-****-**** or 1C**-****-****-**** it's usually on top of the log under your user name.

update your firmware to PSOB, found here: LINK
Firmware is programming that is inserted into a programmable memory area of your drive, thus becoming a permanent part of a drive. This 'software' is called firmware and can be updated with a firmware flasher. A firmware upgrade can add new functionality to your drive. Also bug fixes and improvements are done by firmware upgrades. It also adds more media codes and write strategies to the drive to improve burning capabilities and disk recognition.

doing a firmware upgrade should only improve your drive .... not hinder the drive or hurt the drive, unless you did something wrong with the installation of the firmware or tried to upgrade to the wrong firmware for that drive!

this might be a buggy version of use a more stable version of Nero 7: 7.5.7.0
Before updating to this version .... save your serial #, uninstall Nero, then use this free registry cleaner called CCleaner, then Nero7 Clean tool http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.html reboot and defrag!

and then reinstall 7.5.7.0 from here

turn on your DMA or you won't be able to burn! here's how:
http://my.afterdawn.com/alkohol/blog_entry.cfm/231/dmaissues

and you still didn't show the full Nero log! there might be more suggestions that I can't make because you didn't show the whole log!

How do I turn ON DMA for recorders attached to JRAID and Pnp680? JRAID is a RAID controller (the mobo manual says it does not support ATAPI devices but yet it does) and the Pnp680 is a PCI IDE controller. I cannot find an option in device manager to turn DMA ON on these controllers, I don't know if it's even possible. Thanks for information
A friend of mine gave me his opinion as stated below.

Last address to be written: 2199503 (488:46.53, 4295MB)

CDB Data: 0x2A 00 00 21 8F C0 00 00 20 00 00 00
That last write command is at LBA 0x00218FC0

= LBA 2199488

The transfer length (number of sectors to write) is 0x20

= 32

2199488 + 32 = 2199520

Compare that to the original size and you'll know why you have the problem.

You've hit a bug in their code.

Thank you IHoe, you're a PRO. I upgraded the firmware but same error occurs. I uninstall Nero 7.7.5.1 and install Nero 7.5.7.0 =, the error disappears. Looks like my friend was right, the bug is with Nero.
