I'm not sure what's going on with my DVD Burner. I have a Sony DRU-810A with updated firmware and burning DVD with Nero worked great up to recently. I'm still able to burn CD, but not DVDs. I've ran a bunch of test through the applications from Sony and Nero. Everything gets a pass result, but when It comes to DVDs, I get a Burn Failure. If anyone out ther can help that would be great. I've posted the log file below.

Basically this is the only thing I can see in your log that needs changing, you are trying to burn too fast, try slowing burn to 4X for DVDs and around 32/48X for CDs

I've burnt at 16x before many times. I've also reduce the speed to 12x and I got the same results on Memorex and Sony medias. I also notice that Nero did drop the speed down to eight.

Well you're having problems now.

All we can do is recommend a solution, it's your choice if you accept it.

Quote:
Memorex and Sony medias
Memorex are possibly the WORST brand of media you can buy, heres something to read, that is , if you accept it as FACT

Continue to burn at fast speeds= FAILURES

Thanks Gwendolin. I reduced my speed and used the Sony medias and it came out good. I finally got a successful burn after so many tries. I'll be switching my media type too.
