NDS factory firmware matters for M3 DS Simply ?

I am a new member. I am wanting to get M3DS Simply for my NDS. I am just wondering if Factory Firmware would come into play when running ROM via M3DS. Thanks!

So any stock firmware would be fine with M3 DS correct? I am just so new to this. Thanks.

yes. the M3 DS Simply has a built in passcard. so it doesnt need to have flashme installed.
