Hi, I just made a back up of "Die Another Day" using DVD Shrink and Nero 6 on a Sony DW-U10A DVD writer. When I play the back up an icon of a movie camera appears in the upper right hand corner of the screen. It stays there for a bit and then disappears. This happens at certain chapters within the movie. Has anyone else experienced this with any movies? Can you please tell me what that is or how I can get rid of it? Thanks.

What machine are you playing your DVD on? Some standalones show the icon when they can't decipher the chapters correctly. It doesn't hurt anything, and there's no way to get rid of it -- that I know of. Please consult your user manual (if you're using a standalone player) If this is the what is happening to you, the icon is on the standalone -- not part of your DVD movie.

I'm playing the movie on a Toshiba SD 1200. I now know what that icon means though. My roommate told me that it might mean you can access a different angle on the movie, and he was right. Whenever that camera appears if I press the angle button, it goes into special feature mode to tell you about that part of the movie. I think that is really cool except I wish that there was some way to remove the icon that appears. I can actually press the angle button on my remote at anytime and it will go into that mode. I would like to get rid of it though. If anyone knows how please let me know. Thanks.

Hmmmmmm, never experienced that either but this is what I would do.
I use DVD2One regularly, if there is a multi angle feature - it is displayed as an option and you just select angle 1, then process it just off angle 1......
This is with DVD2One, I do not know if you can remove angles within dvdshrink - very interesting though, may have to have a dabble on this one.......

DVD2One is a good piece of software , I've been using for a long time myself.
As baabaa said you'll be able to take just ANGLE 1 in the options screens along with what audio/subtitles you want
Interesting thread this , a problem I'd not heard of...that has caught my curiousity :-)

Thanks a lot for your help guys. Herbsman, checkout backup "Die Another Day" and see for yourself. I'm curious to see if you or anyone else will encounter the same thing.

Very interesting, I had the exact same thing happen with the movie "The Scorpion King". Every now and then an icon of a green sword appears in the bottom right corner.
Next time I watch the movie i'll try pressing the angle button and see what happens. I created this DVD using DVDShrink and burning with Nero.

Really? I own the Scorpion King also, but haven't backed it up yet. When I do I'll keep an eye out for the green sword. Press the angle button and see what it does for you.

the icon only appears for about a two seconds and then disappears. I haven't noticed anything like this in any of my other movies i've backed up, and it really doesn't bother me since it only appears 5 or 6 times throughout the movie.
so i don't really feel the need to rip the movie again using DVD2One because I don't consider this a huge problem that will detract from my being able to view the movie.
But thanks for the advice! For now, I'll stick with DVDShrink, it is truly a terrific program!

It sure is. However, since you have viewed the weird icon, you shouldnt stay on your own in 1 week from the time you first viewed it. Strange things will happen.....

Oh my, I think you have all backed up your DVD of "The Ring" one time too many!! ;)
Let that be a warning to all of you out there, don't backup your copy of The Scorpion King or your balls will fall off (if you have balls, of course). I Gotta go now, mine fell off and are rolling down the street...
(DOH! Someone, PLEASE close this thread to stop the insanity!) LOL
