Help DVD to AVI

I just want to take the DVD that I have and convert it to an AVI file somwhere arround 700 MB. What is the simple free tool to achieve that?

P.S. DVD has already been ripped by DVD Decripter and then written to a new DVD disk.

If you are using the second copy to make the AVI file the quality will be reduced, just search 'freeware dvd to avi' or something like that
