Ive been reading and posting lately and have come to realize that my comp is pretty shitty compared to others, yet it still manages to get the job done. Just wondering if anyone had shittier or of shitty equivalence to mine and still was able to burn dvds.

Mines quite similar to yours but performs great for what I use it for:
Intel Celeron 1.1Ghz
384Mb SDRam PC133
20Gb Hard drive
32Mb graphics card
I cannot multitask when performing compression or burning as the cpu/ram cannot handle it.
Good setup for on the fly burning, no buffer underuns - pretty nice for a relative low spec machine compared to what is available out there.
Meets for my needs.....

P4 2.53GHz Northwood
768MB DDR RAM
140GB 7200 HDD
128MB ATI Radeon 9700
Not quite shitty thogh - they do nicely. All connected on a broadband wirelss router.

lol - I only bought one of them. My folks left me the credit card tog et a Pc a while ago and i sort off over spent a bit. They were non-too-pleased. Also the third one appeared from no where ;-) Eh Herbsman

I have to scrimp and save and sell vital organs in order to achieve a reasonable upgrade......can only just manage the upgrade to msn v 6.0....LOL...

See if us at a/d can have a whip round for you....
Trouble is you will get lots of different currency........
Try Herbs and mine suggestion......go down the organ selling route, I would help but I am down to my last Kidney.....and I want another HD....
Education fees are astronomical, I have just 1 year left on my day course that I am taking and in total that was £1500 - but I paid for that up front....so I know what you mean.....
I think you need to getta hold of that credit card again.......a few tears may help.....

Yeah - its a pain in the ass. We get student loans here based on how much your parents earn. I get £1200 a year and my girlfriend gets £3000 because of the difference in parents wages. However, does that mean that my parents give me an extra £1800 a year?? No Way! I have to work to get that myself. So basically i am short handed by the fecking british government - ars*holes!!

Just checking out the posts again, my Machine's not Mega, but does the job.
Planning upgrade to 2.8Ghz (prob 3Gb+ by Xmass), actually sourced in Eire as shipping costs from Uk would pain me. Will partially cannibalise current system for some parts and end up with two systems.
Would recommend the two monitor system for anyone who has the room, It's been in place for 2 or more years now and it's the biz, opening up apps full in individual monitors saves time and printing ands great for surfing...

Here, more to the point, even i cant play the new Terminator 2 disc on my computer. Its a WMP9 file and requires a minimum specification of:
P4 3.0Ghz or better
1GB DDR RAM
128MB Graphics
All i can say is WTF

See my sig for my comp stats :)
I plan on upgrading to 2 200gb Western Digital HD's and possibly even a 200gb firewire drive, + another 512mb of ram. I'd like to be able to store my DVD library on my hard drives (at least the DVD's that I like) but that's going to take me at least 300gb for all of them I want to put on my drive.
