I burnt some .mp3 files to a disk and I played them in my car, but I get alot of static. Is there a conversion process involved. And if so what format do I have to convert to and what tools are best for burning. I use NEro express

think it might be the format you used
NEro express does MP3pro I think only !!??

Only new to this myself - my pioneer of 2 weeks
plays mp3 files - but book says not mp3pro or mp3i files ( whatever they are :) ) I used nero
as well but saw where they are mp3pro files
so I downloaded free CDex and dBpowerAMP to use
to rip ( I think its caled ) and then will use Nero to burn on cd-r. No Idea if these are best programs to use - am thinking of paying for
Musicmatch Jukebox to get the tags right and format info - anyone know if this prog is good ???

If that static goes away in later tracks - you're just writing too fast. Waste a couple of cheap CDs and try different (slower) write speeds.

>> Is there a conversion process involved? YES -but shouldn't effect you much unless you have and old processor.

PuglerZ - Read Andre's EAC page (EAC - by far the best ripper & free). To get the tags right, you'll need proper hardware (& firmware) as well as software.

Tks - did read and loaded it now as well :)
Have yet to try it out ... Still thinking of getting a program to organise everything and set Tags -
"hardware (& firmware" = no clue ??
you mean a good cdrw drive ( cd-r discs ) or good mp3 player/speakers ??

Have yet to read up on VBR/CBR/kbits
Its a bit techi for me tbh .. but has to be done I guess .. think cbr-192 is what most of my mp3 are atm cept for the mp3pro's that I will have to delete :(
