At 8x it freezes 1sec multiple times on playback
At 4x it freezes .5sec multiple times on playback
Firmware up to date..

I bought the TY's from supermediastore(Inner code is GG007021)..
I shrink dvd,then convert to ISO, then burn with Nero...

Any suggestions.......

Is this with all burns, It could be your burner or dirty lens perhaps.

computer is Next to New...
Everything is up to date on the computer...
I never multitask when burning...
at 4x DVD freezes multiple times durin playback for about .5sec
I have no Idea wats going on....
Im using genuine TY's DVD-R 8x..firmware up to date,,,registry cleaned.
Im using a dell HL-DT-ST DVD +-RW GWA4164B fw E113 Drive.

It doesn't look good for that drive.

Do a google on GWA4164B and look at all the problems people are having with that drive :-(

it's look like your burner's len problem, try to clean lens first if it's still not working,i suggest you to swap dvd burner,,or contact dell for warranty purpose,,do not waste your time to hunt around for diffrent media dvd disc,,,dellllll

in April of 2005 I bought a Dell XPS... it had the famous Philips 8631... if you look it up you will find that everyone had problems with it...... but for those who bought their Dell after March 2005 the 8631 was fine. People switch for the NEC drive but I kept my drive because all it needed was a firmware update (GD30). And that drive is still going strong today after thousands of burns! I love my Dell.... and it's still strong as ever! I am not a defender of Dell..... but I'm a happy camper. oh..... and one more thing...... dell didn't make the drive..... LG did...... if the computer is new...... switch the drive out at Dell's expense!
